She has full intent to save him until.she sees his face. When the bridge collapses and Mono jumps and grabs Six, she catches him. Six and Mono are running away and this point Six has been tortured with nightmares from the Signal man and feels distrust towards Mono. And the final straw is when they're running. And then she's forced to live the nightmare of Mono breaking into her room and taking her away from her happiness. But when she needs him, he doesn't take her hand. She checks on Mono, when their both nocked over by the signal man. She saves Mono by dragging him away from the tv countless, going along with him even though she has no interest in being away from her safe room. Then if you go back to when Six gets captured in the first place, you see she reaches out to Mono. That's why in order to battle monster Six you break down the door with an axe, it's the same way you break into Six's room. You aren't saving her from her nightmares you're just acting it out, until the very end. The real nightmare here for Six wasn't this room, it was Mono breaking into this room, her safe space, and taking her away from the safety of her music box. She felt safe alone with her music box, even if she was trapped by the huntsman. This room is supposed to be her nightmare but she seems happy, almost content with being here. Mono does this because he thinks it will free her but if you look closely she's not scared. So my theory: Six seems to see Mono as a friend, even in her monster form she tries to be his friend by sharing the music box, but he smashes it, she feels hurt and betrayed and lashes out at Mono. And don't put the spoiler in the title in the future. She holds your hand, contemplating for a moment, but then drops you, as you did indeed betray her trust in her eyes, and we already know how she feels about people who hurt her.Īlso, you should mark this post as a spoiler, dude. She wasn't reaching out her hand for you in the end (I believe she was fully expecting you to fall on your own), but as you jumped to her, she grabs your hand out of instinct. Before you two have a chance to talk or fight or anything, the tower crashes down around you both. After you fully break her music box, she stands up and stares you down. She only kills you if you come too close or call out to her a mockery of the bond you two used to have. She doesn't even run after you the moment she sees you. She closes her door to you and protects her music box. After you hit her music box, you betray her trust. She doesn't hate you, and she even shares the source of her comfort with you. If she really hated you for not saving her, she would've kept the door closed and just killed you when you first came in. Even if you hit her with the axe, she only flinches, and she only brushes you away if you do either that or you try to get between her and her music box. She scoots towards him and places down the music box for them to enjoy together. When he calls out to her in her Monster form, she doesn't hurt him. Then even after she was taken away and Mono didn't help her, she leaves the door to her comfort room open to him. And then at the apartment, Six pulls Mono out once again, reaching out for him, imploring him to run away with her. The scene after the house falling down solidified their friendship, I think, as you can tell by the way they exchange looks. They might have been thrown together by chance at first, but over time I believe Six did grow to care and trust him as a friend. I don't see any evidence of that, in fact, I see the opposite. Saying that Six faked a bond with Mono is a heavy claim to make. Part of a comment I made against Six being a sociopath that I think fits with your question: SPOILERS FROM THIS POINT ON!
